Therefore he doesn't perform as much as he used to but will take on well paying gigs whenever possible. JR has an awesome sense of humor and often shares his accounts of experiences on the road with some of the most popular artists that you will never hear anywhere else. JR says at times he is reduced to tears when he thinks about how he has been blessed to work as a bass player all over the world without back-stabbing, cut-throat tactics to get there. It has without question been God's favor alone, that has allowed him to have a wonderful career in the music business. JR encourages everyone who strives to be an excellent musician to keep in mind that what is for you is for you... you never have to do ugly things to receive what God has for you. This way you'll have no regrets and nothing to be ashamed of. JR has worked with children in the Chicago Public School system via contract grants, etc. Always willing to share the gift of music.
